The Garden on a Sunny August Afternoon -
Normally this time of day doesn't provide the best images, but today
seemed to have a few interesting sights.
Among the' brightest of the bright' was this rather brash group of
Rudbeckia and Phlox...
The Wingnut tree...showing its leaves against the sky...
The large groups of phlox in the back perennial bed.....
One of the groups is 'Bright Eyes'...
Another favorite, which usually doesn't show its true color is a very
pretty blue-violet...
Here are the groups from the bottom of the garden...
In the back area of this garden are lots of Rhododendrons...looking
very fresh in their new growth, and sporting the start of what we hope
will be many flower buds...
I have often tried , without much success, to capture the height of the
late Monkshood..... they seem especially tall this year.
I was pleasantly surprised at the
nice patch of red bee balm in the front side garden....
The front perennial bed with its many dayllilies....just one section...
This little blue hydrangea...'Bluebird', has the daylily 'Little
Grapette' for company...
Sunshine isn't alaways a bad thing!
